How to watch 3D movies on TV

Innovative 3D format allows the user to enjoy high quality surround images. But to set the mode, often some additional devices are needed.

How to turn on 3D on the TV

There are several ways to enable 3D on the TV:

  1. This method does not require the installation of additional equipment. Many modern TV models are able to recognize the innovative format, and automatically switch to the movie viewing mode. Depending on the TV model, it may be necessary to adjust.
  2. Purchase and connect 3D Blu-ray. The advantages of this method are that the player is able to perceive all modern video formats (including ISO images).
  3. Another way is to connect the computer to the TV. The latter will serve as a monitor. It is important that the computer has a powerful video card, otherwise it will not be able to perceive 3D Blu-ray images. You also need 2 GB of RAM, and a certain amount of free space on your hard drive (during the viewing process, operations are performed that temporarily take up space on the disk). Their size depends on the size of the film itself.
  4. The latter method involves the availability of a modern device. Some films (for example, LG) make models that support 3D without installing additional equipment. The difference from the first method is that the setting is not needed. It is enough to press the corresponding button on the remote control, and you can watch a movie.

Is it possible to watch 3D on a simple TV

Yes, you can use a simple TV, but it must meet some requirements:

  1. Good screen extension.
  2. High refresh rate (not lower than 120 Hz).
  3. The presence of additional devices.

How to connect equipment to view 3D

There are several ways to watch movies in this innovative format.

First way

If the TV supports 3D without any additional equipment, but you need a setting, it can be done as follows:

  1. You need to download MKV conversion program from the Internet and transfer it to the appropriate format.
  2. The movie is downloaded to a portable drive (such as a USB flash drive). You must select the appropriate volume to fit the film (licensed versions can take up a lot of space). But at the same time, there may be a limit on the volume of the medium on the TV (usually 32 GB or more).
  3. The flash drive is connected to the TV.
  4. It is necessary to turn on the 3D mode (in modern models it turns on independently).
  5. You can watch a movie.

Note! This method does not require additional devices due to the file format. Usually modern devices are able to read the MKV format. This method is convenient if there is no computer or 3D player. If the TV cannot accept files of this format, the presence of one of the listed devices is necessary.

Second way

The second method using additional equipment (3D Blu-ray player). To do this, you need:

  1. Buy a player.
  2. Find the HDMI connector on the TV. We connect equipment to it.
  3. If there are problems with power, problems may arise during the process of connecting external drives to ports.
  4. Download the movie. Download it to a portable drive.
  5. We connect the flash drive.
  6. We are watching a movie.

Note! When buying a player, you need to make sure that it supports modern file formats (at least ISO images). Some devices only accept Blu-ray discs. They are very expensive.

Third way

The third way is to connect the computer to the device. For this:

  1. We check the characteristics of the computer. If there are not enough, the files will not play.
  2. Install the downloaded movie on the computer. It must be mounted. For this, DAEMON Tools or Alcohol programs are suitable.
  3. Now we need to download the player program. You will need it to play movies on your computer. The following programs work well: Stereoscopic Player and CyberLink PowerDVD Ultra 12.
  4. We connect the computer to the HDMI connector.
  5. You need to wait a while. The computer will detect the new device and install the necessary drivers on its own (this will take less than a minute).
  6. Set 3D mode on the player.
  7. You can watch the selected movie.

Fourth way

The last way is to buy a modern device that supports 3D, without players. Also, they do not require such settings (as in the first method).

The user may not like the quality of the movie being watched. The problem is rather not in a bad image, but in the fact that we do not like it. In this case, it is necessary to refer to the settings. Go to the menu, the “Screen” tab. There we find the line “3D Settings”. We will be presented with several modes to choose from. Use the one you like.
